Words from Happy Campers
Relaxing weekend for refreshing my energy
Every Basecamp Brooklyn event I’ve attended is the perfect mix of outdoor adventure, relaxation, good company, and absolutely delicious food! It’s great to meet likeminded people and spend a weekend refreshing my energy at such a beautiful, quiet campsite. -Erin H.
A triumph on many levels
“When one sets out to go camping they pack for most contingencies and anticipate the length of drive, ground gear set up time, fire starting and maintenance followed by the labor of meal prep and let's face it everyone looks forward to strapping on the feed bag but rarely does it deliver more than the standard fare. This is particularly NOT the Basecamp method.
To know that your meal prep for the entire weekend is taken care of and that what you will be dining on is of the gourmet variety is just the beginning of what awaits you. I have only been on Basecamp excursions I therefore cannot speak from any other camping experiences and I consider myself lucky. The Dark Skies weekend was a triumph on many levels first because of the pleasant road conditions and travel to the destination, second was the ample accommodations, third to find by nightfall with limited light pollution at the site the Milky Way was readily visible overhead. Pitching the tent close to the bubbling brook assured that beyond the centered spirit the meditation observation we all took part in afforded me, the aquatic vibration would mellow me off to a dream state in short order. The take home schwag on top of all that, was an added plus that is currently still in use today. To get out and about like this again, sign me up.” -Chad W.
